5 It Aint True’s….

Five things that people always seem to say or bring up, but likely aren’t true.
All of the information below is from Wikipedia, it’s on the interweb, so it has to be true! No, really, it’s true.

1. George Washington had wooden teeth. FALSE.

Some crazy anthropologist checked out the four known dentures that exist of GW, and they were made of gold, hippo ivory, lead, and human and animal teeth (including horse/donkey teeth) Maybe it’s better if he did have wooden teeth?

2. Vikings had horns on their helmets. FALSE. Maybe

No evidence outside of Thor and Hagar the Horrible comic strips support the notion that Vikings had horns on their helmets.

3. Shaving makes hair grow back thicker and darker. FALSE.
Shaving does not cause hair to grow back thicker or coarser or darker. This belief is because hair that has never been cut has a tapered end, whereas, after cutting, there is no taper. Thus, it appears thicker, and feels coarser due to the sharper, unworn edges. Hair can also appear darker after it grows back because hair that has never been cut is often lighter due to sun exposure.

4. Bats are blind. FALSE.
Sorry Joker. While most bat species do use echolocation to augment their vision, all bats have eyes and are capable of sight.

5.The color red pisses bulls off. FALSE
No, matador man, it’s not the color red, it’s actually the movement of the fabric, that the matador waves that irritates the bull. As a matter of fact, bulls are red-green color blind.
