The City of Vancouver will be lit in orange tonight, until the end of the week as Grey Cup week continues. Canada Place, TELUS World of Science, the control tower at Vancouver International Airport, Vancouver City Hall, and of course BC Place are the buildings that will showered in in orange, the colour of both the 102nd Grey Cup Festival and the host team BC Lions. Pretty good evening to get a vantage point of the city skyline, and some unique shots.
The festivities of the week truly kick off today, with a few of the daily events getting underway.
The CFL Awards will be tonight at Queen Elizabeth Theatre, as the best of the best in the league are honoured. You can get yourself a ticket to the gala, through ticketmaster, and they start at $70. You can upgrade those seats to include admission to the official players party, and VIP access to the Red Truck Tailgate Series, which also kicks off today. You can catch The Gay Nineties, Family of the Year, and Hey Ocean! at the Vancouver Convention Centre tonight. Tickets are still available for just $35 from Ticketmaster.
The Telus Street Festival also kicks off today (Canada Place Way), as well as the Nissan Family Zone (Jack Poole Plaza), lots of great family stuff going on, rain or shine.
