Anyone that knocks the Sedin twins these days should give their head a shake, and hopefully will go buy a Leafs or Oilers jersey. We don’t need ya. How many pretty plays can two Swedish twins make? Keep in mind, we’re talking hockey here. Throw in a ball hockey lovin’ Frenchman and, my lord, flip on the record player.
The Canucks established their first 5 game win streak this season at home against the Buffalo Sabres, but they made parts of the game look like they were just out there playing shinny. You can tell this team has a swagger now, they’ve got that, ‘yeah, we’ll try putting it through our legs and down the other side’, and if that don’t work, well we’ll just muck it up and score on the next shift. For those who watched the game, we would’ve fell out of our chair if Demitra scored on that rush with Wellwood. But, the fact that they even tried that play, tells you a lot about how far this team has come.
We’re not getting carried away, we’ll stay true to what we said earlier this season, but you gotta admit this team is winning and playing pretty. We haven’t seen that since the Westcoast Express days. As game by game goes by, Hank Sedin is looking more and more likely to keep his pace and run away with the scoring title. In a year that features Ovechkin, Crosby, and guys like Thornton, and Kovalchuck? That’s ridiculous. It’s not even a fluke season, Alexei Zhamnov this ‘aint. They’ve been steadily increasing year by year.
Coming back to this game, we were actually quite pleased we didn’t score on that 5 on 3, it did look like a pretty bad call, and didn’t seem to sway momentum any one way. We love watching this team win just as much as the next fan, but you want it to come without dispute as well.
It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
