Penguins get their rings

On this eve of the start of the regular season, the Pittsburgh Pengunins received their Stanley Cup rings, and man, they are friggin’ blingin’. Just check out the snap of one of them. The rings were designed in consultation with owners Mario Lemieux, Rob Burkle, gm Ray Shero and head coach Dan Bylsma.

Every ring is 14-karat white and yellow gold, consisting of 167 diamonds. 167! The top of the ring showcases a retro looking Penguins logo which is made of black onyx, and a 1.3 carat diamond. The logo sits atop an image of the Cup, which sits on a bed of diamonds. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a crapload of diamonds on each side of it.

Stanley Cup Champions is written along the rim, and on one side it shows the players name and number as well as a list of the teams the Pegs beat to get to win it all. The other side of the ring shows the year 2009, with 3 Stanley Cups, paying homage to wins in 1991 and 1992.

They are friggin’ huge, you just know that if any player has to propose to his lady after Tuesday night, he better beat this blinged out finger boulder.

Holy crap. Those are truly ridiculous.

I feel sorry for their wives and their puny engagement/wedding rings ;)

Did they say how much those cost?
