Look Ahead at Canucks Game 4

As the whole city breaks their ankle hopping off of the bandwagon, there are a select few that happen to hold on for the ride. Yeah, LA was a different ballgame than Chicago, and maybe out thumping of these Blackhawks in the first 5 periods of this second round series woke them up. But, you know what? It don’t matter. Where’s the fun in beating a sleeping giant?

I’m a firm believer that there’s a very simple way of winning this series, and that’s just getting it up. We ain’t talking about Viagra in the locker room, we’re talking about shots. Why is it that this Canuck team picks a new struggle every series? In the first series against the LA Kings, it was the penalty kill. We couldn’t stop a bowling ball one man down. This series? I don’t even think it’s the power play that’s knocking us back. Yeah, the power play ain’t clicking, but we need to get a puck off the damn ice.

Say what you want about Niemi, he’s a good butterfly goalie on the ground, as soon as you get the puck up by his shoulders, there’s holes. Now, I know, you’re thinking, shit, let’s just get a puck on the net. But, watch tomorrow, as the Canucks beat these Hawks in game 4, if they score four goals, three of them will be up top. And, can we please stop paying so much mind to Dustin Byfuglien? It’d be great if Rick Rypien could knock him off his skates.
