Coilers in Bill Dispute with Restaurant

It’s not enough that the Edmonton Oilers have had trouble putting the puck in the net these last few weeks, they now seem to be having trouble paying bills at restaurants.

The story goes that the team dined at an upscale restaurant on New Years Eve and then refused to cover the full bill, which was close to $17,000. Supposedly the team owed $16,796.39, but only wanted to pay $12,381.45.  Supposedly the bill was a lot of alcohol, including shots of tequila, wines, and champagne. Don’t know what the hell they were celebrating, they’re bottom of the league!

The best part? Someone actually said, ‘We’re the Edmonton Oilers, we expect a 50 per cent discount’. No douchebag, your ‘fans’ deserve a 50% discount. Apparently some of the players still think it’s the glory days of the 80′s.

We loved this tidbit too, one of the players took a swig straight from some bottle of Brandy, but then refused to pay for the whole bottle, because they didn’t drink the whole thing! Who are these clowns?   Oh yeah, they’re the Edmonton Oilers.

Well, after this story hit the press, the manager came out the other day and said that the team and restaurant had reached an agreement. The crazy thing? The owner of the restaurant went from being ‘furious’ to ‘ecstatic’ about this latest ‘deal’ that was worked out.  You gotta wonder what the deal was. Maybe they’re giving the guy a tryout on right wing?
