Canucks Coming Home

Holy Shite. How long of a road trip was that? Yeah, I get that it’s the longest in NHL history, but I’m still hearing people refer to GM Place as Canada Hockey Place! Olympics or no Olympics, this team, our team hasn’t played at home in a long while.

They lost in a shootout tonight to the Phoenix Coyotes, and we’re not the slightest bit upset. Yeah, to win every game is nice, just not realistic. There were a bunch of things to like in tonights game, especially the performance by Razor in net. I thought our guys had way more jump in their step than I expected, especially with it being the last game of the road trip, and the back end of a back to back. They had every excuse to shit the bed, but they still managed to steal a point, and come out well over 500. So, we haven’t seen them in a while, and they’ve played well, and Lou has a Gold Medal, Kess has a Silver, Salo has a bronze, and Demitra was the highest point getter in these past Olympics, so, we’ve got a ton of reasons to cheer them on against the Ottawa Senators. BUT…there’s one more pretty sweet ass reason to make some noise, well, about 1.5 million reasons. That’s right, the fact that the Sedin twins donated $1.5 million to BC Childrens Hospital is pretty staggering. A pair of players that are still underrated in their hometown, and aren’t as appreciated as they should be, write one of the biggest donations ever to such a worthwhile cause. We’re big believers that if you can give something, you should. Crazy amount of respect to these two to giving back to the city. Now, bring us our cup.
