The Easter Island Statue Project is a privately funded research program and archive, and have been focused on, well, the Easter Island statues that are world famous, looking into the stories behind them, and typical things that archaeologists do. Think more Ross Gellar than Indiana Jones. What they uncovered was that the world famous ‘heads’ have bodies, and carved into the torsos of those bodies are petroglyphs that depict a number of things, including a sailing vessel.
