Kanye Debuts New Material at Facebook HQ

I posted a stand up/Q and A session of Conan O’Brien from Google Headquarters. Today, you can check out this video of Kanye West debuting some rhymes from a yet unreleased track at Facebook Headquarters. It’d be pretty cool to do this at regular folks workplaces, but then we’d have to move the deep fryer to the back.

Dogs Will Be Dogs

When you read the headline, man found guilt of animal abuse, you think of some mangy mutt acting a fool. Of course, there’s usually a dog or a cat involved too. Now, the story coming out of Windsor, Ontario is something I’ve never heard of before. Anjalo Abeywickrema was troubled by how long it was taking to house break his pet dog. Instead of keeping the faith with rolled up newspapers, walks after dinner, water splashes, our man, Anjalo got creative. He got a condom, slid it on the pups penis, and tied it into a knot. If you’re a guy, you likely grimaced a little louder than the ladies. Imagine someone tying a balloon so tight around your junk that not only is it tough to pee, but when you do, it just drips into a balloon puddle for you to roll around in. Of course, animal activists are up in arms, but Anjalo is adamant that he didn’t wish to harm the animal, it just turned out like that. You gotta wonder how tough it was to tie this rubber on in the first place. When Anjalo tried to remove it, the dog bit him, trying to calm him down, he took him for a walk. They got to an open field, where he thought he’d let the dog loose, the dog, for obvious reasons, ran off. Anjalo, in the process of looking for him, had heart attack. While he was in hospital, the dog was found, and was, obviously, in serious distress. He was put down for humanitarian reasons.

Raymond Resigned. Gillis Reaffirms

I’m starting to think Mike Gillis might be a part of one of the strongest management teams in the league. I know this team hasn’t won a cup just yet, but the man doesn’t mess around when it comes to putting his money where his mouth is. The most recent example? Avoiding arbitration with Mason Raymond by signing him to a two year contract worth just over 5. 5 million in total. Pundits were predicting a moderator decision of around 3, good on this team for squaring things up before it would’ve got sticky in arbitration. Raymond offers good value at his new price tag, he has the skill and speed and this season he showed he had the finish, as did Mike Gillis. On paper, I can’t remember a stronger Canucks squad than this years edition. I can’t wait until this season kicks off.

Is You Is or Is You Aint My Baby

It’s a jazz classic, popularized by Dinah Washington. Now, I’m not usually a fan of remixes, especially the classics. But, that being said, the Rae and Christian’s remix of ‘Is You is or Is You Aint My Baby’ doesn’t let the track lose it’s essence. It helps that much of the added instrumental is Jazz era inspired. You can find the track on the album Verve Remixed, a concept album series of classic songs by Verve artists, remixed by contemporary music producers and DJ’s.

Empire Field Antics

You know the BC Lions season is not going so great when the biggest news out of the team is not just it’s record, and maybe injured QB, but antics at Empire Field. The home fans have already seen a streaker, a wheelchair trespasser, and of course a few beer snakes.

NBA Coming to Vancouver

I’m a pretty big believer that Vancouver will get another NBA franchise in the future. We once had a franchise, but unfortunately, we didn’t have a team. We had very poor management, to put it lightly. But the NBA ‘aint doing so great itself, rumors are always swirling that the league will go through some thinning. You take a look at a market like Cleveland, its likely going to go from boomtown to bustville with Lebrons departure. There are a few franchises in trouble and likely looking to move, Vancouver would be a natural destination. So, when the NBA announces that there will be an exhibition game played at the local Rogers arena, you can’t help but be a little stoked, that is, until you see who’s playing. The phoenix suns taking on the Toronto Raptors to me is nowhere close to a marquee matchup. Yeah, I get the Steve Nash connection, but how many times can you go to the same well? Why not have the Lakers, the Heat, Denver, Dallas, or Orlando come out? The raptors will likely have a better season than most think, but they don’t really have star power. I honestly believe they’re going to have a tough time selling this one out. And don’t tell me that the raptors are Canadas team, because we all know that’s a load of shit.

Folks can’t always be wrong. In this clip from Season 6, Dwight volunteers to escort Pam and Jim, and of course, Michael, as the couple rush to give birth to their first kid.
