Video Killed the Football Star

There’s a little league hockey game being played right now somewhere in the country. A game more focused on having fun than scoring goals, but there’s likely something in this old cold damp arena, that’s not in any stadium in south Africa. Video fucking review. I remember watching hockey games and seeing some old dude sitting behind a net and pushing a button whenever he saw the puck go over. How is it that the biggest sports tourney in the world does not even have a goal judge, never mind video review. England got knocked out of the world cup, partly because they were outclassed by Germany, but football fans can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if referees saw the ball clearly cross the line that would’ve tied the game. I don’t care what happened in 1966, a goal is a goal, and for a country to be out of the World Cup because of it, is downright embarrassing for every country that plays the sport.

The officiating has been horrendous this year, I miss Pierluigi Collina.
