Vancouver 2010 Getting Some Bad Press

Of course, not every story about Vancouver and the 2010 Winter Olympics is positive, and those that are negative, aren’t all coming from our fair city, nope, a lot of them are coming out of England. Yeah, the home of the future Summer Olympics are throwing a whole lotta hate our way. Their biggest concern? The weather. Apparently, the world believes that Mother Nature is our homegirl, and is on our speed dial. How the hell do you control the weather? That’s something you can’t predict.

The other complaint? The death of Georgian luger Nodar, we’re not saying it’s his fault, we’re not even sure if it’s a fault situation, but it’s terrible incident. A terrible accident that happened, one that nobody could predict, or even imagine. Everyone’s hearts go out to this man’s family and compatriots. But, does that mean that this Olympics is a complete failure? No, not at all ,of course, some of the British press, at least the shitty publications (Telegraph) are calling these games the worst ever. Give me a break, we’re curious to see what that country does when it rains cats and dogs during their games.
Every game has hiccups, Torino had weather problems, Beijing had concerns regarding ethics and the knife attack on a member of the US entourage, Atlanta had a terror attack, and the list goes on and on. Hell, one of the most memorable moments of the Olympics came under heavy attack and criticism. When Muhammed Ali lit the torch in Atlanta, while many of us rejoiced, there were those questioned, quite loudly, the selection, largely in regards to him ‘throwing’ his Olympic medal in a river.
