Commercial Drive is full of fantastic places to eat and drink. As a matter of fact, there’s so many little places of eccentricity and deliciousness, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. Although, once you step inside Tobys Pub and Grill, it’s tough to forget it.
Why?
One key word. Service.
Don’t get us wrong, there’s plenty of great food, and plenty of value in this place. But, we can say with confidence, on our visit, the absolute best service we
received in a long while. We didn’t just have a waitress, we hard what felt like your personal attendant. Of course, it always helps when they’re easy on the eyes.
We got the ribs, a couple of burgers, and of course a couple of jugs of brew. All around, it’s a strong pub menu of appies, all at super reasonable prices.
Tobys is also a great place to catch a game, housing 11 big screen TV’s, and a decent sized 9ft x 5ft projection screen. No game? It’s all good. They’ve got live music in the shape of local DJ’s and artists. You gotta love a place that stays true to the roots of the local scene.
