Hey Ocean! headlined the first day of the Red Truck Tailgate series as part of the 102nd  Grey Cup Festival. Hey Ocean! are a Vancouver based band, and a very good one at that, an eclectic synth pop sound, mixing in the flute makes Hey Ocean! a crowd favourite at many a show. Made up of Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham, and David Vertesi were nominated for a Juno Award for best breakthrough band in 2013, and also have a number of side projects on the go, including Ashleigh’s voice over work for the series, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

I got to sit down with Ashleigh Ball, and David Beckingham backstage, and we talked about the ever evolving music industry, Beyonce,  Donald Driver, and yes, My Little Pony, and ‘Bronys’.
