NEW PS3 Slim a reality
Damn! That’s what you may say if you purchased a PS3 roughly 35 days ago. Why? Cos your return policy is probably expired, and SONY proved that all of the rumors and gossip that were swirling, were, as usual, true as Tuesday.
The Playstation 3 Slim is dropping on September 1st with a 120 gb hard drive, and a built in BluRay player. The price? $299.00. The older, clunkier, heavier PS3 sporting a 80gb hard drive will also be priced at $299, that’s a $100 price drop. Although, why would you buy the older model in the first place, seeing as you can get a brand new slimmer, bigger hard drive PS3 for the same price? On first glance, the (now) older PS3′s appear to have absolutely nothing on the slims. Although, we’re pretty sure someone will find something. Hell, the rest of us need to justify the extra 100 bucks!
Not only is the new PS3 slimmer and carry a bigger hard drive, it’s more energy efficient as well. Power consumption is now 250 watts, also helping in reducing fan noise. If you’re in the market for a gaming system, we’d highly recommend the PS3, the fact that it includes a Blu Ray player, and a damn good one at that is added bonus. We do of course recommend waiting roughly a month. Why a month? Well, the slims will be available by then, and any bugs within the system will be found as well. This should probably drop the price of all other BluRay players. I mean why the hell would I pay the same if not more for an LG that only plays discs and not games as well?
It’d make sense, goes to show that you never really do know the true value of anything eh?
