There’s been a fair bit going on this past week, mainly old friends making new noise.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers dropped their new single, album art, and track listing, and the first few dates of a world tour. The new track, Dark Necessities is classic chilli peppers, and is highlighted by Flea’s bass driven funk, and Anthony Kiedis’ signature voice. It’s been a long time since RHCP dropped something new, 2011 to be exact, when they released their tenth studio album. I look forward to the Vancouver tour date to support the new album, ‘The Getaway’. They’ve always been an act I’ve wanted to see live.
Check out Dark Necessities
Justin Timberlake seems to be a guy always at work, when not touring, making music, acting or producing, he’s working on other business ventures. He’s got a new animated movie, Trolls, coming out soon, where he voices, you guessed it, a troll. The latest single, ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ isn’t earth shattering, but you know will be featured heavily in top 40 radio rotation. The video, featured below, stars JT’s ‘Trolls’ costars, and is a good one.
Radiohead have a new album out today, you can buy a Moon Shaped Pool from various outlets, including Radiohead’s own website, where you can purchase a vinyl gift set with a bunch of extras, for just under $100. Thom Yorke and the boys have always made music that could be the soundtrack of your favorite space movie, and their first two new tracks are no different, especially ‘Daydreaming’. Both videos are very cool, Daydreaming has Thom going for a morning walk, in the only way Thom probably knows. The other, ‘Burn the Witch’ is a much darker clip, but with a video that seems inspired by Postman Pat. Check them both out below.
Radiohead have also announced a world tour, the only Canadian date, being Montreal and only coming as high as Los Angeles on the West coast, probably safe to say they’ll add more some dates.
