Talk about the fall of old Hollywood. Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise used to be the kings of LA,they were box office royalty. They were more money in the bank in that town than Kobe Bryant. Now, it seems to be falling apart, both men likely reaching the point where other actors are pulling out of movies if they’re attached. Mel Gibson was probably thinking that any kind of backlash that existed over his anti-semite comments during a DUI arrest was starting to cool over. But, after starring in a couple of flops, he’s back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. This time cussing out his ex, Oksana Grigorieva and using the n-word.
More specifically, “If you get raped by a pack of n——, it will be your fault”
You know its bad when two white people are fighting, and black folks still end up getting a knock. What the hell must Riggs be thinking?
Then, there’s tom cruise, who almost seemed more of a victim of a smear campaign. Sure, he jumped on Oprahs couch, and laid into Matt Lauer regarding prescriptions and depression. Was that all enough for the star of such blockbusters as mission impossible, the last samurai, and minority report to be cast aside? Apparently so. He came back to the big screen in a bit part that got a ton of rave reviews, his cameo in tropic thunder. This past week his newest movie, knight and day, starring Cameron Diaz, is a movie that you feel like you watched before. Apparently, a lot of folks felt that way, its already considered a huge flop. Although, it reminds me of sunny side eggs at 3am, so it gets some points for that. So, where do we go from here? Tom cruise needs to make a movie or two where he’s not relying on that smile, a la collateral. Enough of these boring ass, replayed romcoms with an action twist. Mel Gibson? Well, he needs to go away for a while again and pray for a comeback in a Quentin Tarrantino movie or something like Mickey Rourke. Or he could just continue to live off the money from the Passion of the Christ.
It‘s quite in here! Why not leave a response?
