Get famous now. Do something later.

That’s the motto for many. Paris Hilton did it before, Kim Kardashian, Kato Kaelin, the list goes on and on. Get famous for no real reason. Get your photo splashed all over gossip rags and tv screens. Then just as people start wondering why they’re paying attention to them, they give a shot at something. Usually singing or acting. Badly. Hell, sometimes they do both. Most of the time there’s a sex tape thrown in the mix for good measure.

The latest in this saga? Heidi Montag, you know her because she dated some dude, ‘starred’ in some ‘reality’ series or two, and now she’s done a performance at Miss Universe 2009. It’s funny because in this day and age of viral video and fail videos on YouTube, the video that’s circulating more than any other from the contest is of the crown getting dropped.  No one really seemed to give a shit about the shitty performance. And, let’s be honest, after watching the video below, do you blame them?
