3DTV 4 U?
You knew it was coming. That day when someone tells you that your 1080p plasma is fading technology, who knew it would come so soon. However its usually one of those fifteen year old geek squad guys telling you or an exec with Sony. What’s killing your beloved TV? 3D. That’s right, and were not talking red and blue glasses from a cereal box, oh no, were talking the full on Levar Burton from star trek effect. We also say bullshit. Why? Because we don’t think people want to put on big clunky glasses that will cost them around $250, you are people want the future, they just don’t want it to look like the future. And its hella expensive on top of the glasses you’re looking at a $3500 TV which is nowhere close to what the product will be in five to ten years. You’d also be handing out about $400 for a 3D blu ray. And you look like a moron sitting in your front room. We aren’t saying this technology won’t work, we are saying that we are at least ten years away from something real.
3D Televisions go on sale this week, with Future Shop and Best Buy holding exclusive selling rights for the first few months.
